Membrane electrode assemblies for high temperature polymer electrolyt membrane (PEM) fuel cells
The Celtec-P MEA operates at temperatures between 120 and 180 °C, tolerating large concentrations of carbon monoxide and sulfur, and being able to run independently of humidification. This technology allows fuel cell systems to be simpler, robust and more cost effective. Due to customer statements, the number of components in a system can be reduced by one third, resulting in reduced costs, improved reliability and smaller volume. BASF Fuel Cell develops the Celtec-MEA for 15 years, has a superior patent and technology position in high temperature PEM materials.
Back-up power and auxiliary power units

High temperature gaskets
Gaskets have to protect the MEA and to seal the stack even at high operating temperature and phosphoric acid environment
Adaption according to customer stack design
Good thermal, mechanical and chemical stability
Simple handling
Celtec-high temperature single test cell
Celtec-MEA have to be operated with appropriate high temperature test cell fixtures. In order to save time and to exclude material related failures, many customers decide to acquire the BASF single test cell.
Complete, pre-assembled test cell
Compatible with most test stands
Common inlets and outlets
Exchange and interpretation of test data with BASF possible
